The location was excellent, close to the venue where we were attending a wedding.
Breakfast finished far too early on the sunday - 9.30 and the checkout time was also too early @ 10.30

Centrally situated with good parking. Helpfull staff. Restaurant quality good but expensive. Room and bathroom spacious but showing signs of age. Double glazing very efficient in reducing traffic noise
Creaking floorboards, thin internal walls and badly fitting door to corridor made room noisy and late return of adjacent guests annoying.

Room for Improvement
Had a rough night. The bathroom tiles were cracked and dirty. We had no blinds, super awkward. Breakfast was a bit of a joke, had to pick up our own food and it was missing items. The staff could have been a bit more attentive too. Central location was nice though!

The restaurant food was very good, we had a really nice meal. The bar man who was new was very friendly and helpful.
The standard room was very poor and had no ventilation so smelt of mould, we complained and received an upgrade the following night. The breakfast staff were very rude and when we asked for poached eggs, we were told the eggs were to cold to poach which was very bizarre. The checkout was a very silent affair and I think overall the staff require training and to be more friendly and hospitable to travellers.

The room was amazingly comfortable and absolutely gorgeous, it had an iron with ironing board, a work desk and a TV. The location was marvellous, right by St Madoc's Church. I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and would return there.

The staff were excellent, very helpful and polite, breakfast was very good, relaxing atmosphere.Public rooms very nice.
We were in room 11 with the 4 poster bed, ( I know what your thinking, you would be wrong !! ) the bed was very comfortable, but the room was shabby, the Salmon pink carpet more resembled a spent fish that had swam 3000 miles in the Atlantic, swam up the Usk river and died on the bank after spawning, It was tired and stained, the bath taps were odd, ( not matching ) the shower unit must have been fitted by a cross eyed plumber as it was uneven, the wallpaper as well as being tired was peeling and lifting with the damp as was the bath surrounds. I am probably being a bit picky, but I did not expect this from ' The 3 Salmons', I do believe in their defence that the rooms in the main Hotel have been refurbished, Let's hope that the Coach house will be also in the not too distant future.

The bar was nice and the food was good
The room was on the other side of the road from the main building. It was big but very dated - not in an authentic/ traditional way, but a badly refurbished during the 80's way. We were told there was a night porter and therefore leaving our key at reception was fine. When we returned to the hotel at midnight, the doors were locked and the night porter was nowhere to be seen. 20 minutes of banging on doors later, he finally surfaced, without a word of apology.

Good cuisine, friendly staff - good selection of beer and wines. Very fiendly people in general in museum and castle especially. Would recommend the hotel for a relaxing break.
Room 5 was disappointing in general - badly designed - no mirror in room and the one in the bathroom steams up! Lack of power points in room - hence very difficut to use hair dryer etc. - socket for kettle is dangerous because one has to lean over the table to connect. I suggest that the management spend the night in the room!!

I enjoyed the comfort of the attractive room, big bed and big bathroom with a proper bath. It was a cheerful and convenient place to stay, for a family party nearby.
The room (no. 10, at the top of the building) was a bit hot (perhaps a summer duvet would have been a good idea?) and, with the windows open, the traffic noise was a bit intrusive.

Great bar and outstanding quality, local produce for the breakfast. The dining room renovation is very well done.
The food is outstanding, but the portions are more Michelin star than hearty, country pub.
